It's the Breaker, Stupid!
On a recent trip, we were unable to get any AC power out of our Onan generator. Shore power worked just fine and the generator ran just fine, but the generator would not output any power to our AC outlets or appliances. I thought sure that we had somehow blown the transfer switch, which keeps the generator from supplying AC power when the RV is also plugged into AC power. Before making an appointment to have the problem looked at, however, I dug into the Onan manual and discovered that (duh!) the generator has a circuit breaker on it. Sure enough, the circuit breaker had tripped and resetting it fixed the problem.
